I saw one of my old sketches floating around a /co/ creation thread, where they discussed developing her character. While I normally don’t make a scene about posting/reposting artwork, I thought I should at least clear this up by making a post here: This wasn’t a /coc/ character, i.e. something for /co/ to work on. This was just when I had doodled one of my own characters. Longyear, Psudonym, and myself did that sort of thing on the doodlechat a lot, and I did include them in my compilations of doodles I recorded (and then posted to /draw/ for Psu and Long to see).
I’ll freely admit I don’t have a story set for her yet (and who knows if I ever will, at the pace I work on my own personal projects!). My idea behind Copycat was to have a semi-good metahuman, a sort of drifter character who used her minor, limited duplication in interesting ways to either defeat more impressive foes or just help out those in need (one idea I had for a neat visual that I’ve never gotten a chance to draw would be of her duplicating a single brick on the ground many, many times until it formed a dome-like shield to ward off an attack). Even if not a main character, I thought she’d make for some interesting interactions with lawful good characters.
So tonight I watched behind the scenes of the Super Mario Brothers 3 Cartoon Show, and the “That’s So Kaizo!” video series by retsupurae, mocking a fellow’s attempt at a “Mario 64 hack.” Have some stupid doodles I did while watching them.
So I doodled this earlier for Judge Anon, who is a big fan of Phyla Vell from Guardians of the Galaxy (I am as well!). Given that Phyla Vell was a previous Captain Marvel, I kinda liked the idea that Moondragon got her to wear one of the more infamously skimpy Marvel costumes (hey, the scarf makes it cool!) Gotta show off dem abs, too.
