I never like to talk bad about shows I love, but Mai’s backstory on the Avatar: The Last Airbender never satisfied me. The girl never really got the chance to do more than fulfill a role.

It says good things about Gene Luen Yang and Ryan Hill’s Free Comic Book Day issue that it let her choose to do something, examined why she did it, and showed some consequences. I think until you get all of those in, you don’t really have a character - just an idea of one.

Gunwild, I had no idea you were a fellow Mai fan.

It’s extremely disheartening when someone explains to you that you do excellent, even “outstanding,” work but they aren’t in a position where they can pay you (and that they have 17 paychecks for themselves they can’t cash), and you can’t bring in enough clients to pay even a fraction of your education loan debt.

I will have to think on what my next plan of action is.

I’ve played around with the idea for a “powered down” or gauntlet-less Colette before. I just have this idea of her summoning the giant robot hands when butt-kicking is needed, maybe crossing her arms like in Android Kikaider. Then again, you could also derive a lot of humor from having Colette attempt precision things with giant robot arms, so who knows. I’ve also been waffling on giving her a single ponytail like most artists, or giving her two like psudonym and ICS do. Personally I prefer the single ponytail as I can never figure out how to make the twin-tail look decent (drawing hair in general is one of those things that remain a mystery to me).

Just a bunch of old doodles.

1. Wonder Woman and Sif in a wrestling competition (but should Diane win because she’s Greek? Gotta subvert those tropes, people.)

2. Raven butt because I am super mature adult.

3. Time-displaced Jean Grey (along with the other original X-Men) is now running around in the current Marvel Universe. Given Xavier is dead, I figure she could learn how to use her powers from another gifted psychic.

4. Psudonym and Gunwild are terrible friends that make me watch crummy movies like Elektra. So I drew this while watching it.

Hmmm… I’ll have to think about it. As other people can attest, I am literally the worst person alive to chat 1-on-1 with. This is how 90% of my conversations go:

I’m much more comfortable in larger group-chats, like the Party All The Time doodlechat.

I do try to avoid doing requests that have been made after the requestbox was closed to be fair to those who have been waiting (Although I’ve slipped a few times for HSG and /co/ drawthreads, I’ll admit). I have been deleting requests sent to my inbox after requests were closed, as I thought it would set a bad precedent if I allowed a queue to build up. Sorry! If you do want a drawing right away, Commissioning me is the most reliable way to get it done, and I’m a fairly cheap date too (prices starting at $5.00, what a bargain!)
